Application selection criteria

Overview

The criteria are arranged under 5 headings: economic, social, environmental, strategic alignment and project management. Under each heading is a series of specific criteria against which the project applications will be rated. Particular attention will be paid to criteria which are closely aligned with policy objectives, and these are highlighted. The FLAG should apply this criteria in making recommendations on projects to Marine Scotland.

The selection criteria which have been approved by the Programme Monitoring Committee are the only criteria which are applied in deciding whether the application should be awarded a grant. There are, however, other factors which may be taken into account to prioritise applications in the event that the Fund is oversubscribed, and other factors which determinethe level of grant which may be offered. Article specific eligibility is explainedin the relevant Eligibility Guidance Notes.

  All applications will be considered by the project Assessment Committee to ensure there consistency of approach.
